WANT TO KNOW A SECRET? 👀

Every business has a secret but not all businesses are willing to share the secret recipe.

I get tons of unanswered DMs…

People ask me how this whole social media and digital product business thing works.

Within 2 years, I get asked the same questions (non-verbatim).

“How to get started?”

“Can you help me set up a Gumroad store?”

“Do you have a course?”

“I need a side hustle. Will you guide me, please?”

Until it got to the point where I couldn’t reply anymore.

Because it involves an in-depth explanation and step-by-step processes…

✨ From how I started to how I currently promote and maintain everything ✨

So, I decided to write this blog… all my blogs, actually.

AND THAT’S FOR FREE!

No need to pay me for a course or e-book.

You can support me by donating to my free templates, buying from my shop or leaving positive feedback. Tehee~

So, if someone DMs again…

I can send my blog link IN ONE CLICK instead of retyping my whole journey from day one.

Which is the same thing I said to another person with the same question.

BIG BRAINS, RIGHT!? 🧠

Kidding.

And hopefully, I get to answer some of your questions clearly. 🫶✨

Going back…

These are my strategies to grow your business and make money online! 📈

THE. CHERRY. ON. TOP.

I “accidentally” discovered this strategy while promoting my Canva website way back in February 2026 for Valentine’s Day.

Currently, my TikTok account has gained 1.2M views and 20.4k profile views.

It’s not that much compared to bigger creators out there…

But as a small creator who started from zero followers 2 years ago, it means so much to me! 🥺

This year, my TikTok account just reached 11k followers and counting! 🎉

Some of my newest tutorials just hit 100k views in just a few days, too.

My Instagram also hit 2k followers and I reached 1k subscribers on YouTube.

Since I’m about to spill my secret strategies…

They’re not gonna be so secret anymore! 😆

Here are my 3 social media marketing tips to make your first $100 at home:

1. Create Tutorial Videos

A lot of people watch tutorials on social media for almost any problem.

Including myself.

I’d sometimes open TikTok/YouTube and type:

“How to embed a video in Canva”

“How to sync databases in Notion”

“How to launch an interactive Canva website”

Instead of promoting my template previews alone which get fewer views, I film the editing process and create tutorial content.

Wait, how?

I use my iPhone to film my laptop’s interface using a phone stand. Then, I edit the video on CapCut, which takes an hour or so.

From zero views, it reaches 10k to 100k views a month.

And yes, it doesn’t feel like a promotional video at all.

But at the same time, it increases the visibility of my business to my target audience.

Which is a win-win situation.

When my tutorial video goes unexpectedly viral, the specific template in the content earns sales on my Gumroad or Raket.PH shops compared to the rest.

Not all my tutorials go viral.

But if some of them do, I create similar content and then almost get the same views or engagement.

By doing this, potential buyers visit my shop via my link-in-bio.

The more shop visits I have, the more chances for me to get sales.

If not for my “viral” tutorials, I don’t think my Canva websites would get this much sales in Gumroad.

That’s secret #1 for me.

2. Post Testimonial Videos

THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL!

Once I started posting my client work with positive feedback, I noticed I started getting more custom orders.

This unexpectedly became one of my favorite side hustles this year.

I’d usually receive business inquiry DMs on TikTok, Instagram, via emails or even on Etsy!

After my custom Notion dashboards or Canva website projects, I’d usually ask my clients for feedback using a Senja form to help me support my business.

If they don’t, that’s fine. If they say YES, I become one of the happiest freelancers in the world!

Surprisingly, they give me the most heartwarming feedback, especially international clients! 🥺💖

Sometimes, they’d even give me extra tips via PayPal or Wise.

The highest tip I’ve received this year?!

50+ USD and it honestly meant so much to me as someone who works with all my heart.

Here are my tips to get positive feedback:

  1. Be clear. Clarify the project, what they want, the scope of delivery and set your rate.
  2. Some clients ask many follow-up questions. Be genuinely accommodating!
  3. Be open to feedback or revisions. Follow their vision! If they want a cozy brown theme, do it.
  4. Always update them about the daily progress, regardless of how many tasks you’ve finished today. This is so important!
  5. Lastly, finish the project before the deadline.

If you love your work, they’ll feel it, too.

In short, be communicative, a fast-replying freelancer, turn their vision into a reality and work ASAP!

Some clients may say “It’s okay” and don’t give as much feedback than others.

But as long as they pay without complaints at the end of the project, you’re doing something right!

If they come back to you as a repeat client, become friends with them, that’s even better! 🫶✨

This is my secret sauce #2.

3. Cross-Post Content

DO THIS.

🚨 I REPEAT, DO THIS AT ALL COSTS! 🚨

Wait, that sounded exaggerated. Haha.

But really, I make sure to cross-post all my tutorials after filming and editing them.

Let me explain why…

Posting the same content on different social media platforms such as:

  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Threads
  • Pinterest

… works wonders!

This optimizes your ✨ online visibility ✨ without creating different content to post on a specific platform.

Each platform gives you a specific number of views.

If the same content got 864.6k views on TikTok, it may only get 26k on YouTube Shorts and 27.7k on Instagram.

At the same time, I also made a long-form video of the same tutorial on YouTube and have gained around 124K views in 6 months.

By doing this, you’re not only saving time and resources…

But also increasing your chances of making sales and hitting your first or another $100!

Some of my client orders come from YouTube because of the Notion walkthroughs I posted.

Most of the time, they come from TikTok because of my tutorials.

Sometimes, I get Instagram DMs or emails… depending on where they found my content.

Doing this method attracts the right clients without sending them multiple proposals to work with you just to get rejected.

Also, they already know your style, so most of the time, they’re okay with your rate.

It’s almost the other way around, being in the situation of…

✨ I don’t chase, I attract.✨

Kidding!

This works the same way for VAs or Virtual Assistants you see on your TikTok FYP.

Some attract clients on social media because they promote their work by giving tips.

You know what happens next?

Premium clients find them and offer them a role even without applying for the position at 3 AM on freelance sites.

The same thing works for me as a freelancer graphic designer and Notion template creator.

My online visibility gives me the chance to showcase my work and collaborate with brands or work with clients.

Which is honestly…

The best thing about being a content creator, an e-commerce business owner or a freelancer during this digital era.

So, these are my not-so-secret social media marketing strategies! 🤩

I hope my personal tips are helpful and informative in your journey as a supportive reader, aspiring or current digital creator.

These tips are based on my experiences and results may vary per individual.
