3 Social Media Marketing Tips to Earn $100 Online

WANT TO KNOW A SECRET? 👀

Every business has a secret but not all businesses are willing to share the secret recipe.

I get tons of unanswered DMs…

People ask me how this whole social media and digital product business thing works.

Within 2 years, I get asked the same questions (non-verbatim).

    “How to get started?”

“Can you help me set up a Gumroad store?”

    “Do you have a course?”

“I need a side hustle. Will you guide me, please?”

Until it got to the point where I couldn’t reply anymore.

Because it involves an in-depth explanation and step-by-step processes…

✨ From how I started to how I currently promote and maintain everything ✨

So, I decided to write this blog… all my blogs, actually.

    AND THAT’S FOR FREE!

No need to pay me for a course or e-book.

You can support me by donating to my free templates, buying from my shop or leaving positive feedback. Tehee~

    So, if someone DMs again…

I can send my blog link IN ONE CLICK instead of retyping my whole journey from day one.

Which is the same thing I said to another person with the same question.

    BIG BRAINS, RIGHT!? 🧠

    Kidding.

And hopefully, I get to answer some of your questions clearly. 🫶✨

    Going back…

These are my strategies to grow your business and make money online! 📈

    THE. CHERRY. ON. TOP.

I “accidentally” discovered this strategy while promoting my Canva website way back in February 2026 for Valentine’s Day.

Currently, my TikTok account has gained 1.2M views and 20.4k profile views.

    img 8387

It’s not that much compared to bigger creators out there…

But as a small creator who started from zero followers 2 years ago, it means so much to me! 🥺

This year, my TikTok account just reached 11k followers and counting! 🎉

    img 8437

Some of my newest tutorials just hit 100k views in just a few days, too.

My Instagram also hit 2k followers and I reached 1k subscribers on YouTube.

Since I’m about to spill my secret strategies…

They’re not gonna be so secret anymore! 😆

    Still interested?

Here are my 3 social media marketing tips to make your first $100 at home:

    1. Create Tutorial Videos

    img 8438

A lot of people watch tutorials on social media for almost any problem.

    Including myself.

I’d sometimes open TikTok/YouTube and type:

“How to embed a video in Canva”

“How to sync databases in Notion”

“How to launch an interactive Canva website”

Instead of promoting my template previews alone which get fewer views, I film the editing process and create tutorial content.

    Wait, how?

I use my iPhone to film my laptop’s interface using a phone stand. Then, I edit the video on CapCut, which takes an hour or so.

From zero views, it reaches 10k to 100k views a month.

And yes, it doesn’t feel like a promotional video at all.

But at the same time, it increases the visibility of my business to my target audience.

    Which is a win-win situation.

When my tutorial video goes unexpectedly viral, the specific template in the content earns sales on my Gumroad or Raket.PH shops compared to the rest.

Not all my tutorials go viral.

But if some of them do, I create similar content and then almost get the same views or engagement.

By doing this, potential buyers visit my shop via my link-in-bio.

The more shop visits I have, the more chances for me to get sales.

If not for my “viral” tutorials, I don’t think my Canva websites would get this much sales in Gumroad.

    That’s secret #1 for me.

    2. Post Testimonial Videos

    THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL!

Once I started posting my client work with positive feedback, I noticed I started getting more custom orders.

This unexpectedly became one of my favorite side hustles this year.

I’d usually receive business inquiry DMs on TikTok, Instagram, via emails or even on Etsy!

After my custom Notion dashboards or Canva website projects, I’d usually ask my clients for feedback using a Senja form to help me support my business.

If they don’t, that’s fine. If they say YES, I become one of the happiest freelancers in the world!

Surprisingly, they give me the most heartwarming feedback, especially international clients! 🥺💖

Sometimes, they’d even give me extra tips via PayPal or Wise.

The highest tip I’ve received this year?!

50+ USD and it honestly meant so much to me as someone who works with all my heart.

Here are my tips to get positive feedback:

    1. Be clear. Clarify the project, what they want, the scope of delivery and set your rate.
    2. Some clients ask many follow-up questions. Be genuinely accommodating!
    3. Be open to feedback or revisions. Follow their vision! If they want a cozy brown theme, do it.
    4. Always update them about the daily progress, regardless of how many tasks you’ve finished today. This is so important!
    5. Lastly, finish the project before the deadline.

If you love your work, they’ll feel it, too.

In short, be communicative, a fast-replying freelancer, turn their vision into a reality and work ASAP!

Some clients may say “It’s okay” and don’t give as much feedback than others.

But as long as they pay without complaints at the end of the project, you’re doing something right!

If they come back to you as a repeat client, become friends with them, that’s even better! 🫶✨

This is my secret sauce #2.

    3. Cross-Post Content

    DO THIS.

🚨 I REPEAT, DO THIS AT ALL COSTS! 🚨

    Wait, that sounded exaggerated. Haha.

But really, I make sure to cross-post all my tutorials after filming and editing them.

    Let me explain why…

Posting the same content on different social media platforms such as:

    • TikTok
    • Instagram
    • YouTube
    • Facebook
    • Threads
    • Pinterest

    … works wonders!

This optimizes your ✨ online visibility ✨ without creating different content to post on a specific platform.

Each platform gives you a specific number of views.

If the same content got 864.6k views on TikTok, it may only get 26k on YouTube Shorts and 27.7k on Instagram.

    instagram gracedigitals.co.

At the same time, I also made a long-form video of the same tutorial on YouTube and have gained around 124K views in 6 months.

    img 8439

By doing this, you’re not only saving time and resources…

But also increasing your chances of making sales and hitting your first or another $100!

Some of my client orders come from YouTube because of the Notion walkthroughs I posted.

Most of the time, they come from TikTok because of my tutorials.

Sometimes, I get Instagram DMs or emails… depending on where they found my content.

Doing this method attracts the right clients without sending them multiple proposals to work with you just to get rejected.

Also, they already know your style, so most of the time, they’re okay with your rate.

It’s almost the other way around, being in the situation of…

    ✨ I don’t chase, I attract.✨

    Kidding!

This works the same way for VAs or Virtual Assistants you see on your TikTok FYP.

Some attract clients on social media because they promote their work by giving tips.

    You know what happens next?

Premium clients find them and offer them a role even without applying for the position at 3 AM on freelance sites.

The same thing works for me as a freelancer graphic designer and Notion template creator.

My online visibility gives me the chance to showcase my work and collaborate with brands or work with clients.

    Which is honestly…

The best thing about being a content creator, an e-commerce business owner or a freelancer during this digital era.

So, these are my not-so-secret social media marketing strategies! 🤩

I hope my personal tips are helpful and informative in your journey as a supportive reader, aspiring or current digital creator.

These tips are based on my experiences and results may vary per individual.

    GOTCHA.

I bet my blog title summoned you here. 😆

    Kidding aside.

You’re actually in the RIGHT PLACE.

    AT THE RIGHT TIME.

    For real.

    No jokes.

    But first, who am I?

I’m a daily Instagram-Reel binge-watcher and a cat-lover by nature, Grace, with 2-year experience of selling digital products since 2024.

I made 40k+ organic downloads on Gumroad for my FREE/PAID Notion templates while I gained almost 4k sales on Etsy within 1.5 years without ADS.

    gumroad sales

Ever since I started an e-commerce business:

    • I’ve learned what products sell the most
    • How to market on social media without spending a dollar
    • And build a long-term brand with repeat buyers

    If you’re interested…

Here are 3 reasons why you should start a digital product business in 2026:

    1. Passive Income

    animated gif

If you’re chronically online like me…

I’m sure you’ve encountered this term across the internet A LOT.

Almost every digital creator mention this on TikTok or any platform.

At this point, it might already sound overrated.

    But the question is…

    IS IT ACTUALLY TRUE? 🤔

    Imagine…

    • Waking up and seeing an unexpected sale notification on your phone.
    • Being at a family gathering and realizing you just earned $15 from the digital planner you made on Notion.
    • Getting an email about a $100 payout, sent to your bank on a Monday morning.

As someone who has been selling Notion templates for already 2 years, I’d confidently scream with all my heart:

    “YES, PASSIVE INCOME IS REAL!”

    But honestly, I wouldn’t say it’s 100% passive.

You still need to do the work.

    HOW? IN WHAT WAY?! 🤩

    Simple.

✨ Create engaging content about your digital products and promote them consistently on different platforms by cross-posting ✨

If your content goes viral… THE BETTER.

Social media marketing is part of the SUCCESS.

    No cap. 😎

    In short…

More online exposure + shop traffic = More sales 💰

    It’s not an overnight success.

But once you establish trust and strong branding, consistent sales follow monthly.

When I was just starting, it took me 3 months before I got my first actual sale on Gumroad.

It was my $5 Ultimate Life Planner Notion dashboard. 🥺💖

    img 8385

    I remember it was a cold-early-January in 2024.

I finally gave it a shot by promoting my planner on Notion Facebook groups.

    Then, the rest is history.

    Here’s an important takeaway,

After listing a product on Gumroad or other e-commerce platforms…

Don’t expect for sales to come through without promoting your business.

    ❌ That is a NO-NO ❌

Even well-known and BIG brands market their products in the most unexpected ways.

    Instead, you should do these:

    1. Research products or niche
    2. List products on any e-comerce platform
    3. Market your listings on social media

I’ll write a blog on how to promote on social media with viral content soon!

    2. Creative Freedom

    gif

Do you have the passion for art and love for content creation?

If your answer is YES, you’d 100% love selling digital products like I do.

I spend hours creating Notion dashboards and Canva layouts from scratch without regrets.

    Why?

For me, there’s nothing more fulfilling than making a blank screen pretty and people supporting your work.

A Notion template with 5 pages and multiple databases takes me about 3-4 days to finish.

    Usually, 5 hours a day.

While I spend 1-3 hours on a Canva website or printable invitations.

But if you prefer pre-made templates with PLR and rebranding them to save time, that’s also fine.

✨ Do what works out for you ✨

In my case, I love selling my own designs and creations despite hours of effort to build each template.

    Honestly…

I tried rebranding a PLR template before but my built-in “creative powers” didn’t seem to do wonders.

    So, I left it untouched.

Then, I continued creating my own digital products as usual in my 4-corner bedroom. Haha.

I swear, my laptop and desktop witnessed my short-term mini crush outs during trial and error.

    It’s a secret you and I only know! 😆

    If you’re a sucker for arts and creativity… 🧑‍🎨💫

You’d definitely love the creative freedom as a digital creator!

Once you start getting custom orders, you’ll enjoy it as a side hustle, too.

    3. $0 Capital

    shocked cat gif

    This is possible.

But I bought a $5 e-book (at that time) before launching my Gumroad in October 2023.

That e-book helped me how to get started and promote my Notion templates that converts to sales.

If you’re interested, you can check out the “My Side Hustle” e-book by Poonam Sharma here.

You don’t have to spend anything if you want to start a digital product business.

But if you want to enroll courses and purchase bundles with PLR or MRR labels, that’s also okay.

    On the other hand…

You only need 2 softwares and an e-commerce shop to build a $0 capital business:

These are the tools I personally use:

    • Notion for dashboards = $0
    • Canva for mockup creation = $0
    • Gumroad for product listing = $0

Yes, it costs zero dollar to create a high-quality Notion dashboard.

Fortunately, Notion offers various features even with a free account! 🤩

Say it with me in 3… 2… 1…

    “NOTION WE LOVE YOU!”

Mockups? You can create them on Canva using free elements.

Product listing? Gumroad only takes the taxes and transaction fees when someone buys from your shop.

Unlike other platforms, you don’t need to pay anything to list a product on Gumroad.

Once you reach the $100 threshold, they send your earnings to your linked bank account. If a customer pays via PayPal, you receive it instantly.

    Here’s what I like about e-commerce business:

    1. There is no shipping fee.
    2. Every transaction is digital.
    3. Buyers receive their orders instantly.
    4. You can sell the same template you created once, multiple times.
    5. And you never run out of digital products.

    The secret to consistent sales?

    taking go on gif

High quality products and effective social media marketing.

    Some months have low sales.

Some months have unexpected high sales.

But most of all, never give up despite the possible setbacks.

    Every entrepreneur experiences it.

If you always launch trendy products and consistently market them, your business thrives long-term.

So, are you ready to start your online business in 2026? 📣

Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section! 💭
